The Ubiquitous Peruvian Band

The first time I saw a Peruvian musical group performing on the street (incidentally in Peru), I thought it was pretty cool. Now it seems wherever there are gatherings of people, in any city in the world, there is a Peruvian band playing the exact same pan-pipe tune and hawking CDs. I am now convinced it's actually the same 4 guys that by some kind of ancient Incan teleportation system are actually able to be, simultaneously, everywhere at the same time.

You may be right. We heard them in Boulder, Colo, and some bought tapes years ago here. Haunting melody. Any of these same 4 guys have a web site? We were in Kauai this winter and Holoholo Nelson played the nose flute, with similar hauntingness. I told him about the Peruvian pipes. He seemed interested in hearing.

I saw and heard these guys in Perth Scotland on 23 july 04. Surely they can't be two places at once ? As a player of the Romanian panpipes ( NAI ) I was intrigued by the double row Zampona played by the leader. He even had a case full of them, presumably in different keys. As the CD seller was still to be heard playing his "shaker" instrument whilst selling CD's . I presume it is another Peruvian trick where they can do two things at once ! It is a truly wonderful sound and I think the piper really could play them though he was possibly miming to the CD to save breath. I get quite light headed playing mime, sorry mine.
